Ready to turn out
Advice
Keep your vehicle maintained and road-legal, and prepare before you turn out: fuel, kit, food and drink. On task, wear your hi-vis, keep your radio with you, give control your ETA, and log your mileage and locations. Act professionally — the group’s reputation rides with every vehicle.
Vehicle insurance
Tell your insurer that you use the vehicle for voluntary work. The larger insurers typically cover it under social, domestic & pleasure at no extra cost — members have had this confirmed by Adrian Flux, NFU, Sureterm and Asda. The ABI’s volunteer-driving commitment is the reference if they hesitate.
citizenAID
citizenAID teaches the public how to react and give immediate care in deliberate mass-casualty incidents. Worth every member’s time.
Kit and stickers
Embroidered group workwear (navy tops, black bottoms) is ordered through Enterprise Workwear — the group subsidises members’ orders by 50% on production of a receipt; embroidery adds £3–£4 to website prices.
